Types of EMF Detectors:

Key Features to Consider:

  1. LCD Display:

    • A Digital LCD display is common in more modern models, offering a clear and precise reading of EMF levels. Some devices include color-coded screens or bar graphs to indicate the strength of the EMF detected, making it easy to interpret the results.
    • The screen may display the EMF in mG (milligauss) or µT (microtesla) for magnetic fields and V/m (volts per meter) for electric fields.
  2. Sensitivity and Range:

    • Sensitivity refers to how sensitive the detector is to small changes in electromagnetic radiation. A more sensitive detector can pick up even low levels of EMF radiation, which is particularly useful in environments where fields may be weak but still present.
    • Range refers to the maximum level of EMF the meter can measure. Some detectors can measure very low fields (around 0.1 mG) all the way up to higher levels (up to 2000 mG or more), depending on the application.

    • Some models beep at increasing rates as the EMF level rises or will display a flashing light when the readings exceed a preset threshold.

    • Most EMF detectors are designed to be portable, with compact, lightweight designs. This makes them easy to carry around for on-the-go measurements, which is ideal for investigating different environments.
